Create Your Dream CEO Routine for the New Year
When you think of your dream day, what does it look like? Here are some tips to implement change and start the new year as a confident CEO.
When you think of your best, most productive self as a business leader, what comes to mind? Are you in a luxe office, in lovely clothes, sipping a latte? Or are you getting up without an alarm, staring off with an at-home pilates class and slowly getting started with work as your team handles pressing items? With the new year just a couple of weeks away, let’s get clear on how you want to run your business as a dream CEO and put actions in place to get there!
What are your personal and business priorities in 2024? Before we get to the dreamy stuff, let’s get clear on what you want to achieve over the next 12 months. If you think you want to do more speaking opportunities or travel for work, but then personally you want to stay at home more, you’re not going to reach your goals as your priorities are clashing. Outline your business and personal goals, so when we build your dream routine we are supporting what your soul is craving to achieve!
How do you want to show up this year? Are you craving travel, events, networking, production? Or maybe you want a reset, grounding, identity work, and slower movement? You can choose a plethora of tones and pursuits for this year, and there is no wrong answer. My 2023 looked VERY different from 2022, which looked incredibly different from 2021! None of the years were the same. By being honest about your capabilities for the year and what your soul is craving, you won’t set yourself up for disappointment if you have fewer innovations or new offers, but more brand work and promotion.
Put together a routine that supports your vision: Let’s say you want to focus more on reset, grounding and brand identity work next year. What kind of routines would support that in your personal and professional life? Maybe starting your day with journaling, reading or podcasting about branding and business vision. Maybe you focus on cleaning out your house, only keeping items you need, finally trading in your car for one that feels more “you” that you can drive to coffee shops or meeting places. Perhaps trying to “eat with the seasons,” more grounding foods in the winter and lighter foods as spring comes. Get creative and have fun thinking of ways you can support your vision with daily activities you know you’ll enjoy.
Avoid “resolutions”: While we talk a lot about goals and priorities, I avoid “resolutions” when thinking about business or personal transition at the beginning of the year. Staying consistent does not mean every day needs to look the same, because let’s be honest - it’s not going to. Where are you headed, and how are you going to get there while having FUN and enjoying your time - that’s what’s most important.
Hopefully this helps you put together a dream routine for your new year. I encourage you to think of ways you can celebrate your CEO self without leaving behind your intuition and true desires - what is it that YOU want this year?
